Former Boys II Planet contestant Taichi has openly shared that he is gay and revealed that he is currently in a relationship, earning praise from fans for his honesty.
Taichi first gained public attention as a trainee under JYP Entertainment before competing on Nizi Project Season 2. Although he did not debut through the survival program, he later appeared on Boys II Planet, where he was eliminated in 95th place.

Earlier this year, Taichi also appeared on the fourth season of the LGBTQ+ dating reality show HisMan, which follows single gay men searching for love. While he was one of the participants, he ultimately did not leave the show as part of one of the final couples, leaving many fans curious about his dating life after filming.
Taichi recently answered those questions during a Q&A video uploaded to his newly launched YouTube channel.
During the video, the former trainee openly addressed his sexuality, making it clear that he identifies as gay rather than bisexual. He also shared that his family has long known about his sexual orientation, explaining that his parents recognized it even before he fully understood it himself.
Later in the Q&A, Taichi responded to another question he said he receives frequently—whether he currently has a partner.

Without hesitation, he confirmed that he is in a relationship and revealed that he has a boyfriend. While speaking about him, Taichi smiled and appeared visibly shy, blushing as he described his partner in affectionate terms.
He also shared that he would love to film a YouTube video together in the future if the opportunity arises, hinting that fans may eventually get to meet his boyfriend through his content.
The revelation quickly attracted attention online, with many fans congratulating Taichi for speaking so openly about his personal life. Supporters praised his confidence and welcomed the increased LGBTQ+ representation from a former K-pop trainee, an industry where public discussions about sexuality remain relatively uncommon.

Some fans also joked that the announcement finally solved a long-running mystery—who has been taking the adorable photos regularly appearing on Taichi’s Instagram account.
Although Taichi’s journey through the survival show circuit did not lead to a debut, he continues to build a following through social media and YouTube, where fans are now getting to know him beyond his time as an idol trainee.

His candid discussion about his sexuality and relationship has been widely celebrated as another step toward greater visibility and openness for LGBTQ+ public figures in the Korean entertainment industry.
