BIGBANG, the “emperor of K-pop,” has announced the opening of a global celebration by expanding engagement with fans worldwide ahead of their historic 20th anniversary since debut.
According to YG Entertainment on the 22nd, BIGBANG opened their official community and SNS channels on the global fan platform b.stage at 8:19 p.m. on the 21st, a time symbolizing their debut date, August 19th. This move reflects the members’ strong determination to communicate more closely with fans and create a meaningful 20th anniversary ahead of their World Tour scheduled for August of this year.
A source from YG Entertainment explained, “As the members are scheduled to embark on a World Tour starting from August of this year, they wanted to communicate with fans and make this 20th anniversary even more meaningful. Through these channels, BIGBANG will draw closer to the hearts of fans under their name.”
The first content released to open communication is a new logo motion video embodying the team’s identity. The phrases “BIGBANG” and “20TH ANNIVERSARY” within the visually striking video once again highlight their dominance over the music industry for the past two decades. Particularly, footage of three members captured behind the scenes at Coachella recently stirred nostalgia among fans while raising anticipation for their “second act” to come.
BIGBANG recently stimulated the dopamine of global music fans with a 67-minute medley of hit songs at the U.S. “2026 Coachella Valley Music and Ts Festival.” Billboard praised, “They summoned the audience to the golden age of K-pop,” while Forbes also hailed them as “the emperor of K-pop,” warmly welcoming their return. Having completed their perfect warm-up through Coachella, they announced the August World Tour during their performance on the 19th, sending the world into a frenzy.
This World Tour holds special significance as it marks the first solo performance under the name “BIGBANG” in 9 years since their 2017 “LAST DANCE” tour.
