Just days before BLACKPINK’s highly anticipated 10th anniversary, new reporting from Dispatch has shed light on what it describes as a frantic, last-minute effort by YG Entertainment to pull the celebration together. The report comes after fans criticized the agency for what many viewed as a lack of preparation for one of the group’s biggest milestones.
According to Dispatch, YG had been attempting to coordinate the anniversary event for some time, but communication between the company and the four BLACKPINK members reportedly did not proceed smoothly. When the fan meeting was officially announced on August 6 for an August 8 celebration, neither the exact venue nor the participating members had been fully confirmed, fueling widespread concern among fans.
Dispatch claims that the situation became even more complicated behind the scenes. Two unnamed members reportedly decided to participate later than expected, while the other two hurriedly adjusted their schedules at the last minute so that all four members could attend. Only after receiving confirmation from every member was YG finally able to move forward with the event.
Even then, the logistical challenges reportedly continued. Because aligning the schedules of all four members proved so difficult, organizers were forced to plan the event during daytime hours. However, at the time of Dispatch’s report, an exact starting time had still not been finalized.
The venue itself also remained uncertain. Dispatch reported that the event was expected to take place at the National Museum of Korea, but the specific location within the museum had not yet been decided. With the museum welcoming approximately 40,000 visitors each day, organizers reportedly faced significant challenges in reserving an appropriate section without disrupting normal operations.
A museum representative acknowledged those concerns, explaining that discussions were ongoing to ensure the fan event would not interfere with regular visitors.
Despite the behind-the-scenes uncertainty, YG has since confirmed that all four BLACKPINK members will attend the anniversary celebration, putting to rest rumors that only a partial lineup would appear. Nevertheless, Dispatch’s report has reignited debate over whether the company waited too long to finalize plans for one of the group’s most significant anniversaries.
The exclusive fan event is scheduled to take place on August 8 in South Korea, with only 40 selected fans invited to attend, making it one of the most exclusive BLACKPINK anniversary celebrations to date.
