The group BTS is kicking off its North America tour.

BTS will hold the “BTS World Tour ‘Arirang’ in North America” concerts at Raymond James Stadium in the United States on the 25th, 26th, and 28th, local time. The tour is set to run for a total of 31 shows across 12 North American cities, including El Paso, Texas, Mexico City, and New York.

This U.S. concert comes about four years after “BTS PERMISSION TO DANCE ON STAGE” in Las Vegas in 2022. Tickets sold out immediately after sales opened. Additional shows were also added in Tampa, Stanford, and Las Vegas, underscoring the group’s popularity.

Tampa, the tour’s starting point, has been transformed into a citywide festival ahead of the performances. Mayor Jane Castor released a video of City Hall lit in purple and sent a welcome message. Major bridges are also scheduled to be illuminated in purple for a period of time.

The City of Tampa has also set up a large booth for official merchandise sales and announced traffic control plans around the venue, preparing for the influx of visitors. Tampa International Airport has joined in by displaying welcome messages inside the terminal.

Local broadcasters have also prepared special coverage. FOX 13 Tampa Bay highlighted BTS’s global influence and the presence of its fandom, BTS ARMY, through “K-Pop: The Seoul Reach.” 10 Tampa Bay News projected that the concerts could generate an economic impact of about $800 million to $900 million, raising expectations for a boost to the local economy.
