BTS is once again preparing to transform Las Vegas into a massive purple-themed celebration — only this time, the scale appears even bigger.
On May 15, BTS officially announced additional details for their upcoming citywide project, BTS THE CITY ARIRANG – LAS VEGAS, through, the global fan platform widely used by HYBE artists.

The project marks BTS’s return to Las Vegas following the enormous success of their 2022 concerts, which famously turned the entertainment capital into what fans called “Borahae City.” Hotels, landmarks, restaurants, and advertisements across the city were covered in BTS-themed promotions during that era, creating one of the largest fan-driven tourism events in modern pop culture.
This year, however, the group appears ready to escalate things even further.
The centerpiece of the project will reportedly be a new “ARIRANG Red Illumination” concept inspired by BTS’s latest release, Arirang. One of the biggest attractions is expected to be the visual takeover of Sphere, the world-famous spherical entertainment venue in Las Vegas.

According to the announcement, the Sphere will showcase giant immersive digital visuals themed around BTS’s Arirang era across its massive exterior display. Because the entire structure functions as a fully programmable screen, fans are already anticipating one of the most visually overwhelming BTS projects ever attempted in the United States.
Meanwhile, the famous Las Vegas Strip will also participate in a large-scale “BTS Welcome OOH takeover.” On concert nights, from 11 p.m. until midnight, major billboards throughout the district are expected to simultaneously display welcome messages dedicated to the group.

Several iconic Vegas landmarks are also scheduled to join the celebration.
On May 23, 24, 27, and 28 local time, attractions including the High Roller, the Paris Las Vegas Eiffel Tower, and the Las Vegas Gateway Arches are expected to illuminate in red simultaneously, creating a synchronized citywide spectacle connected to the Arirang concept.
Fans online are already calling the project “BTS City 2.0,” with many noting that few artists in the world can generate tourism campaigns on this scale. The announcement has also reignited memories of BTS’s 2022 Vegas era, which many ARMYs still consider one of the fandom’s most iconic moments.
The Las Vegas takeover comes during BTS’s ongoing Arirang world tour, which has already become one of the most talked-about music events of 2026.

Adding even more global attention, BTS is also scheduled to appear at the halftime show for the 2026 FIFA World Cup Final on July 19 at MetLife Stadium. The group will reportedly co-headline the historic performance alongside pop superstars Madonna and Shakira.
With Vegas preparing for another full-scale BTS invasion and the World Cup stage waiting later this summer, 2026 is rapidly shaping up to become one of the group’s biggest global years yet.
