V created one of the most emotional moments of BTS’s current world tour after delivering a heartfelt Mother’s Day message during the group’s concert in Mexico City.
BTS held multiple performances in Mexico City as part of its Arirang world tour on May 7, 9 and 10 local time. However, the final concert carried especially deep emotional meaning because May 10 is celebrated as Mother’s Day in Mexico — one of the country’s most important holidays due to its strong emphasis on family and parental bonds.

Knowing the significance of the occasion, V surprised fans by speaking directly to the audience in Spanish during the final show.
“I learned a little Spanish,” he told the crowd. “I want to say how happy I am in Spanish. I missed Mexican ARMY so much.”
The audience immediately erupted in cheers, but the atmosphere became even more emotional moments later.
V then paused and addressed the crowd with a heartfelt message about Mother’s Day.
“Today is Mother’s Day. Did you celebrate?” he asked fans. “Call them right now. Video call them.”

He then affectionately shouted several names into the stadium:
“Mama Maria, Mama Teresa, Mama Lupe, Mama Koko! Thank you for raising us. Happy Mother’s Day.”
The names V mentioned are widely recognized as common female names in Mexico, making the moment feel deeply personal to many fans in attendance.
Almost instantly, social media filled with emotional reactions from concertgoers who said the message unexpectedly touched them on a personal level.
One fan wrote online, “Today was really hard, so I prayed for my mom. My mom’s name is Lupe, and I don’t know how much I cried when V called that name.”
Many fans described the stadium atmosphere as unusually emotional and quiet for several seconds after V finished speaking, with some attendees saying they could hear people crying around them.
A video clip of the moment quickly exploded online, surpassing 8.3 million views and more than 1.4 million likes across social media platforms within a short period of time.
Fans especially praised V for making the effort to speak Spanish and for recognizing the cultural importance of Mother’s Day in Mexico instead of treating it like a normal concert stop.
Many viewers online described the interaction as “genuine,” “thoughtful” and “deeply respectful.”

The emotional concert moment came during an already historic visit to Mexico for BTS.
Before the concerts, the group reportedly met with Claudia Sheinbaum after receiving an official invitation from the presidential office. BTS later greeted approximately 50,000 citizens gathered in front of the National Palace, drawing enormous public attention across the country.
The group’s impact on the local economy has also become a major topic.
According to estimates from the Mexico City Chamber of Commerce, BTS’s concerts are expected to generate around $107.5 million USD in economic impact through ticket sales, tourism, hotels, restaurants, transportation and local business spending.
The phenomenon has once again reinforced the growing global conversation surrounding “BTSnomics” — the enormous economic influence created by the group wherever they perform.
Following the Mexico concerts, BTS will continue the Arirang world tour with performances in Las Vegas on May 23, 24, 27 and 28.
The group will later return to South Korea for concerts at Busan Asiad Main Stadium on June 12 and 13. Notably, the second Busan concert date coincides with the 13th anniversary of BTS’s debut, making it another highly anticipated emotional event for fans.
But for many Mexican ARMYs, it may be V’s simple Mother’s Day message — and the way he made thousands of people think about their families in the middle of a stadium concert — that becomes the memory they never forget.
