A lighthearted moment at MAMAMOO’s latest concert has unexpectedly reignited dating speculation among K-pop fans, with many jokingly claiming that BIGBANG’s Kang Dae-sung and Hur Young-ji looked like they were on a date.

The rumors began following MAMAMOO’s Seoul stop of their Award World Tour on June 21, where numerous idols and celebrities were seen in attendance supporting the group.
Among those spotted in the audience were members of MAMAMOO’s industry friends, including Park Ji-hyo, Yoo Jeong-yeon, Lee Chang-sub, and Chae Hyung-won.
However, it was Daesung’s appearance that generated some of the biggest online reactions.
The BIGBANG vocalist recently welcomed MAMAMOO onto his popular YouTube variety series, and many fans were pleased to see him showing support by attending the concert in person.
What caught fans’ attention, though, was where he was sitting.
Daesung was seated alongside Hur Youngji and Choi Hyo-jung. While the three appeared to be enjoying the concert together, photos circulating online showed Daesung and Youngji leaning closely toward one another while looking at something on a phone before the show began.

The images quickly spread across social media, with fans joking that the pair looked surprisingly comfortable together.
Adding fuel to the playful speculation was the fact that Youngji previously appeared on Daesung’s variety program. During that appearance, fellow BIGBANG member Dong Young-bae reportedly commented that Daesung and Youngji seemed like they would get along well.
At the time, viewers already noticed their easy chemistry and natural conversations. Some fans even jokingly “shipped” the pair, although there was never any evidence suggesting a romantic relationship.
The new concert photos brought those old comments back into the spotlight.

Social media posts quickly filled with playful reactions such as “I’m going to start a rumor,” “They actually look cute together,” and “Why does this look like a date photo?” Many fans focused on how relaxed and comfortable the two appeared around each other.
Still, most reactions remained humorous rather than serious.
There is currently no evidence that Daesung and Youngji are dating, nor have either of their agencies commented on the speculation. The entire discussion appears to be based solely on a few candid audience photos and fans’ observations about their friendly interactions.
This type of speculation is hardly unusual within the K-pop industry, where even casual interactions between idols can become major discussion topics online. A shared meal, a brief conversation, or simply sitting next to one another at an event can often trigger waves of dating rumors among fans.
In this case, the rumors seem driven more by fans enjoying the pair’s chemistry than by any actual signs of a relationship.
Many commenters have also pointed out that both stars have worked together professionally and already knew each other through Daesung’s show, making it entirely natural for them to chat comfortably during a concert.
For now, there is no indication that anything beyond friendship exists between the two idols.

Nevertheless, the viral photos have given K-pop fans something fun to talk about, while once again demonstrating how quickly a simple interaction can turn into a trending topic online.
Whether fans view the moment as friendship, chemistry, or just two entertainers enjoying a concert together, one thing is clear: Daesung and Youngji unexpectedly became one of the most talked-about pairings of the weekend.
