The dust never settles for long in Dutton Ranch. Just three episodes into the freshman season of the Yellowstone spin-off, the series has officially entered chaos mode. Episode 3, titled “Act of God Business,” pushes the story into much darker territory, mixing biological disaster, teenage self-destruction, and the creeping feeling that somebody on this ranch is hiding something deadly.
And by the end of the hour, the fandom had one overwhelming reaction:

The biggest crisis of the episode lands directly on the shoulders of Rip Wheeler.
While checking the pastures, Rip and the wranglers discover a horrifying sight: a bull foaming at the mouth with bloody, blistered hooves. Local veterinarian Everett quickly confirms the nightmare diagnosis — foot-and-mouth disease (FMD).

Beth successfully secures a luxury farm-to-table partnership with a high-end hotel restaurant, potentially opening a massive new business stream for the ranch. But the victory barely lasts.
The moment she returns home, she finds Rip staring at another infected calf.
If the herd has to be destroyed to stop the outbreak, Beth’s deal dies instantly.

The final scenes between the two are especially uncomfortable, with Oreana casually introducing Carter to weed while continuing to manipulate his desperate need to look mature and fearless.
