According to a report from PEOPLE, Hauser recently opened up about his experience filming Dutton Ranch, his daily coffee habit, and what fans can expect from the future of the series.

One of the biggest surprises from the conversation was not about a dramatic storyline or a major character twist.

It was about coffee.

When asked who drank the most coffee on the Dutton Ranch set, Hauser immediately knew the answer.

“Oh yeah. I got them whipped for sure.”

The 51-year-old actor revealed that he regularly drinks around four cups of coffee a day, often stopping around 1 p.m., although he admits he could drink it all day because it is his favorite habit.

“I drink, like, four cups a day, probably. I drink it until about one o’clock. I could drink it all day long. It’s my favorite.”

For Hauser, coffee is not just something he consumes during long filming days. It has become part of his personal lifestyle, especially as he continues balancing acting, fitness, and his own coffee brand, Free Rein Coffee.

Interestingly, Hauser also knows exactly what kind of coffee his characters would choose.

If Beth Dutton, played by Kelly Reilly, were ordering coffee, Hauser believes she would choose something with a little more attitude.

He selected Branded and Choconela from his own coffee company, explaining:

“She’s got a little bit of spice to her.”

For Rip Wheeler, however, the answer was much simpler.

Hauser chose American Dirt, a coffee inspired by the cowboy lifestyle that matches Rip’s personality and the world of the ranch.

“Obviously, American Dirt is kind of born from the cowboy world, so I’d say American Dirt for Rip.”

This small detail reveals something important about how Hauser approaches his role. He does not simply play Rip as a tough cowboy character. He understands the environment, the culture, and the identity that shape him.

Beyond the lighter coffee conversation, Hauser also discussed the difficult reality behind filming Dutton Ranch.

The first season was physically demanding, with the cast and crew facing extreme weather conditions throughout production.

Hauser explained:

“We went through a lot of weather issues with the heat, then the freezing cold, and there were ice storms. It was just nuts.”

By the end of production, the entire team was ready for a break.

After finishing episode nine, Hauser said everyone needed time to recover before preparing for the next chapter.

Despite the challenges, he described the experience as rewarding and expressed excitement about continuing the series.

That future is now confirmed.

Paramount+ renewed Dutton Ranch for a second season, with production expected to begin in early 2027.

While Hauser did not reveal specific details about Rip Wheeler’s storyline, he teased that the future of the show looks promising, especially with new showrunner Ben Cavell joining the project.

Hauser praised Cavell and suggested that the next chapter could bring something special for Rip, Beth Dutton, Carter Green, and the entire series.

“We have a wonderful new showrunner, Ben Cavell, and I’ve been talking to him. He’s a very special guy, and I think the future is bright.”
