PSY’s SUMMER SWAG concert has once again found itself at the center of controversy after fireworks from the show reportedly caused a nearby professional baseball game to be temporarily suspended.

On August 15, 2026, the NC Dinos faced the Lotte Giants at Busan Sajik Baseball Stadium as part of the Shinhan SOL KBO League.

But around 8:42 p.m., the game suddenly had to be stopped after thick smoke began spreading across the stadium and severely affecting visibility.

The surprising source?

A PSY concert taking place at the nearby Busan Asiad Main Stadium.

At the time, PSY’s SUMMER SWAG show was underway, and fireworks launched as part of the concert reportedly produced a large amount of smoke. Strong winds then carried the smoke toward Sajik Baseball Stadium.

As the haze spread across the field, players’ visibility was affected, forcing the umpires to temporarily suspend the game.

The Lotte Giants reportedly informed spectators through the stadium scoreboard that the interruption was caused by fireworks smoke from a nearby concert.

Fortunately, the disruption did not last too long.

Once visibility improved, the game resumed at approximately 9:01 p.m., meaning the interruption lasted around 19 minutes.

However, the incident immediately attracted additional criticism because this was not the first time something like this has happened.

A remarkably similar situation reportedly occurred the previous year.

In August 2025, fireworks from PSY’s SUMMER SWAG performance at the Busan Asiad Auxiliary Stadium also caused a nearby baseball game at Sajik Baseball Stadium to be temporarily interrupted.

That means the same concert series has now been linked to a very similar disruption involving the same baseball venue in consecutive years.

And that is what has reignited the controversy.

While fireworks are a major part of PSY’s spectacular summer concerts, critics questioned whether organizers should have anticipated the potential impact on nearby sporting events, particularly when two large venues are located so close together.

The latest incident has therefore sparked renewed discussion about the so-called “summer fireworks nuisance.”

For concertgoers, the fireworks may be one of the most exciting parts of SUMMER SWAG.

For the baseball players trying to see the ball through a cloud of smoke, however, it was apparently a very different story.

And with a nearly identical incident happening again just one year later, many are now questioning whether this was simply an unfortunate accident — or a problem that should have been prevented in the first place.
