For more than two decades, Tyler Florence has built a career inspiring home cooks through restaurants, bestselling cookbooks, and some of Food Network’s most popular series. Whether hosting The Great Food Truck Race, mentoring contestants on Worst Cooks in America, or sharing recipes on Tyler’s Ultimate, Florence has become one of the most recognizable faces in the culinary world.

Now, the celebrity chef is stepping into a very different role—one focused not on cooking, but on improving the lives of millions of Americans living with food allergies.
Florence has officially partnered with Food Allergy Research & Education (FARE), the nation’s leading nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting people affected by food allergies through research, education, advocacy, and public awareness.
The collaboration is especially personal for Florence, who experienced multiple food allergies as a child before eventually outgrowing them. That firsthand experience has shaped his understanding of the daily challenges many families continue to face.

“Food is one of the most powerful ways we connect with one another, and everyone deserves the opportunity to participate safely and confidently,” Florence said in a statement announcing the partnership. “I’m honored to work alongside FARE and support its mission to transform the lives of people managing food allergies every day.”
The issue is far more widespread than many people realize. According to FARE, more than 33 million Americans currently live with food allergies, including nearly 6 million children. For many families, something as simple as dining out, attending birthday parties, or eating at school can require careful planning and constant vigilance.
Florence hopes his platform can help bring greater attention to those everyday realities while encouraging more conversations about food safety and inclusion.
FARE CEO Dr. Sung Poblete believes Florence is uniquely positioned to help amplify the organization’s mission.

“Food allergy touches far more people than many realize,” Poblete said. “Chef Florence’s personal experience and deep roots in the culinary community, along with his work in the entertainment industry, represent a unique opportunity to bring new perspectives to the conversation around food allergy.”
The partnership extends well beyond awareness campaigns.
Florence has also accepted a position on FARE’s Board of Directors, where he will help guide the organization’s long-term efforts in research, education, advocacy, and public policy. His experience as both a chef and media personality is expected to offer valuable insight as FARE continues working toward improving the lives of people affected by food allergies.
Another major milestone will come later this year when Florence is honored at FARE’s annual gala on October 21 in New York City.
During the event, he will deliver remarks centered around the theme “Creating a Table for All: The Time is Now,” emphasizing the importance of making shared meals more inclusive so that people living with food allergies can participate safely without feeling excluded.

The message reflects Florence’s belief that food should bring people together—not create barriers.
Throughout his television career, Florence has celebrated the joy of cooking and sharing meals with others. His latest initiative broadens that mission by highlighting the importance of accessibility and safety at the dinner table.
While viewers know him for energetic competitions and creative recipes, this new chapter focuses on using his influence to advocate for a cause rooted in his own childhood experiences.
FARE says additional initiatives involving Florence will be announced in the coming months, suggesting this partnership is only the beginning of a broader effort to increase education, improve research, and support millions of individuals navigating food allergies every day.
For Florence, the move represents more than another professional project. It is an opportunity to combine his lifelong passion for food with a mission that could help make dining safer, more welcoming, and more inclusive for families across the country.
