Global superstar Lisa is officially heading to one of the world’s biggest stages.
According to reports from The Athletic, the BLACKPINK member has signed a performance agreement with FIFA and will appear at the opening ceremony of the 2026 FIFA World Cup. The news instantly sent fans worldwide into celebration, marking another massive global milestone in Lisa’s already historic career.
The 2026 World Cup will be uniquely hosted across three countries — the United States, Canada, and Mexico — making it the largest World Cup in history. Because of the multi-country hosting format, FIFA plans to hold three separate opening ceremonies across North America.
Among them, Lisa is reportedly scheduled to perform in the United States ahead of the highly anticipated opening match between the United States and Paraguay at SoFi Stadium near Los Angeles.

Lisa’s participation is especially significant because it marks only the second time a K-pop artist has ever performed at a FIFA World Cup opening ceremony.
Previously, Jungkook of BTS made history at the 2022 Qatar World Cup by performing the official soundtrack Dreamers during the tournament’s opening ceremony. His performance became one of the most talked-about moments of the event and represented a major milestone for K-pop on the global stage.
