NEARLY DISASTER ON THE YELLOWSTONE SET! JENNIFER LANDON STILL SHUTS OVER THE MOMENT IAN BOHEN NEARLY HAD HIS FACE DISMISSED! Jennifer Landon recently recalled one of the most terrifying incidents that ever occurred behind the scenes at Yellowstone, when Ian Bohen faced a dangerous situation that nearly resulted in serious facial injury. According to her, only his quick reflexes and athletic physique allowed Ian to dodge at the last moment, preventing a catastrophic accident. Although the incident didn’t have serious consequences, it shocked the entire film crew, and Jennifer admits she still can’t hide her fear whenever she remembers it. This incident also became one of the most haunting memories for the Yellowstone cast, reminding them of the risks that always lurk behind seemingly ordinary filming scenes.

Filming Yellowstone has always been known for its rugged landscapes, demanding action sequences, and authentic ranch work. But according to Jennifer Landon and Ian Bohen, one memorable day on set nearly turned into a genuine tragedy when a cow kicked Bohen directly in the face during filming.

The frightening incident was recently recalled during the Yellowstone Bunkhouse Reunion Panel at Fanboy Expo Knoxville, where several cast members reunited to share behind-the-scenes stories from the hit Western drama. What initially sounded like another funny production anecdote quickly revealed just how dangerous filming the series could be.

Landon, who portrayed the fan-favorite ranch hand Teeter, explained that the accident happened while the cast was shooting a cattle-branding sequence involving several large cows. As Bohen, who played ranch hand Ryan throughout all five seasons, positioned himself behind one of the animals, everything changed in an instant.

“The cow suddenly moved, and it kicked him right in the face,” Landon recalled.

Looking back on the terrifying moment, she admitted the outcome could have been far worse.

“If he wasn’t such an incredible athlete,” she said, “I’m serious—he wouldn’t have had a face anymore.”

According to Landon, Bohen’s quick reflexes likely prevented the kick from causing catastrophic injuries. Although he was left bleeding immediately after the impact, she believes his athletic instincts helped him avoid taking the full force of the blow.

For those watching nearby, however, it took a moment to realize just how serious the accident had been.

Landon admitted that the atmosphere was initially confusing. Some people laughed out of shock, and she even remembered thinking the situation wasn’t as severe as it appeared. But as reality set in, her emotions changed completely.

“I started crying,” she confessed. “I suddenly realized, ‘I’m a girl. This isn’t funny anymore. You’re not supposed to laugh when someone gets hurt.'”

Bohen, however, quickly corrected one detail of her story.

While Landon jokingly remembered everyone—including Bohen himself—laughing afterward, the actor interrupted to clarify what really happened.

“I was not laughing,” he said.

“I went down immediately. Flat on my back.”

His description painted a much more dramatic picture than the lighthearted version many fans had imagined. Rather than brushing off the injury, Bohen explained that the kick knocked him down instantly, highlighting just how powerful the impact had been.

Fortunately, the actor avoided permanent injuries and eventually returned to filming, but the experience became one of the most dangerous moments anyone on the series could remember.

The story also serves as another reminder that Taylor Sheridan’s productions often place actors in real outdoor environments alongside unpredictable animals, creating an authenticity that sometimes comes with genuine risk.

In fact, Bohen’s close call isn’t the only recent accident shared by actors working within Sheridan’s television universe.

Earlier this year, Landman star Ali Larter revealed another painful behind-the-scenes mishap while filming the show’s second season. During an appearance on Late Night with Seth Meyers, Larter recalled shooting a barefoot scene with Billy Bob Thornton in an open field when she suddenly felt something crawling between her toes.

It turned out to be fire ants.

The actress said the insects repeatedly bit her feet throughout filming, leaving her in tears while cameras continued rolling. Director Stephen Kay reportedly praised her emotional performance, believing she was deeply immersed in the scene.

“I was crying because fire ants were biting my toes!” Larter later joked.

Stories like these have only reinforced fans’ appreciation for the physical demands placed on actors working in Sheridan’s productions. Whether handling horses, cattle, harsh weather, or challenging outdoor locations, cast members often face situations far removed from the controlled environments of traditional television sets.

For Yellowstone fans, Ian Bohen’s accident has become one more unforgettable chapter in the show’s history. Although the moment ended without life-changing injuries, Jennifer Landon’s emotional recollection makes it clear just how close the production came to disaster.

Looking back now, both actors can laugh about the experience. But at the time, what seemed like an ordinary day filming a ranch scene nearly became one of the most serious on-set accidents in the history of the Yellowstone franchise.
