Part 3: The Stolen Assets

“Read him his rights and get him out of here,” Miller ordered, motioning for the cuffs.

An agent stepped forward, grabbing Arthur’s wrists and snapping the heavy steel bracelets around his forearms. But as the metal clicked, Arthur suddenly laughed—a low, raspy chuckle that sent a chill down the spine of every agent in the room. “You think you caught me, Miller?” Arthur whispered, leaning toward the agent. “Check the tablet in my breast pocket.”

Miller frowned, reaching into Arthur’s tuxedo jacket to pull out a slim, encrypted smartphone. The screen was glowing with a red digital timer counting down: 00:05… 00:04… 00:03…

“DOWN! EVERYONE DOWN!” Miller screamed, lunging to tackle Clara off the stage just as a sharp, high-pitched frequency tone echoed from the ballroom’s sound system.

BOOM.

The main power grid of the hotel blew out simultaneously, plunging the entire grand ballroom into pitch-black darkness. Emergency lights flickered on, casting an eerie red glow over the chaos. Gunfire erupted near the service entrance—suppressed, rapid burst shots. Arthur’s private security detail, disguised as waiters in black vests, drew automatic pistols from beneath their serving trays, opening fire on the federal agents to create a blind retreat. Bullets tore through the floral arrangements, shattering the floor-to-ceiling glass windows overlooking the city street below.

Part 4: The Final Reckoning

Through the smoke and flashing red lights, Clara crawled under the head table, her heavy silk dress weighing her down like lead. She watched in horror as Arthur expertly disarmed an agent in the dark, using the man’s body as a shield before snatching a pistol from his holster. He wasn’t fleeing—he was moving straight toward her.

“Clara!” he called out over the chaos, his voice smooth and terrifyingly calm. “Come along dear. The helicopter is on the roof, and I still need your biometric eye scan to authorize the final bank clearance.”

He reached under the table, grabbing her by her lace veil and dragging her violently toward the stage stairs. Clara screamed, grabbing a heavy silver champagne bucket from the fallen table and swinging it with all her strength. The heavy metal slammed square into Arthur’s jaw with a sickening crunch. He stumbled back, spitting blood onto the white carpet, his eyes flaring with primal rage.

“You miserable little bitch—” he snarled, raising the weapon.

CRACK.

A single shot echoed above the chaos. Arthur froze, his eyes widening in shock as a dark spot bloomed in the center of his white tuxedo shirt. He dropped to his knees, the gun slipping from his fingers, before collapsing face-first onto the rose-covered altar.

Behind him stood Agent Miller, his service weapon smoking, his tactical vest torn from the firefight. The remaining gunmen were quickly suppressed by incoming SWAT teams flooding the room. The sirens outside grew deafening as dozens of police cruisers blocked off the entire block.

Miller walked over, offering a hand to help Clara up from the ruined stage. She sat amidst the shattered glass, torn silk, and pool of blood, staring at the wedding ring still shining on her finger. She slowly pulled the diamond off her hand and let it drop onto Arthur’s lifeless body.

“Is it over?” she whispered, her voice barely audible over the sirens.

Miller looked around the ruined ballroom, at the fleeing guests and the flashing red lights reflecting off the ceiling. “For him, yes,” Miller said grimly. “For the rest of your family, it’s just beginning.”

COLE HAUSER’S TOUGHEST CHALLENGE ON DUTTON RANCH WASN’T EVEN IN THE SCRIPT What nearly broke Cole Hauser during the production of Dutton Ranch Season 1 wasn’t a fight scene or an emotional Rip Wheeler moment. After roughly nine months of production, the cast and crew were so exhausted by the end of Episode 9 that everyone was ready to go home and get some much-needed rest. Even more challenging, Hauser faced an issue that made it difficult to maintain Rip’s signature appearance, while another serious incident eventually forced production to shut down for four full days. Despite all of that, Hauser still described the first season as an experience that was “very worthwhile” and continued preparing for what came next. The thing that nearly defeated Rip Wheeler in real life wasn’t an enemy from the story — it was a problem that no script could possibly control.

When Cole Hauser admitted that everyone was ready to “take a breather” after completing Dutton Ranch Season 1, the comment could easily sound like the words of…

THE DELAY TO LANDMAN SEASON 3 HAS GIVEN FANS REASON TO WORRY — BUT PARAMOUNT+ HAS JUST REVEALED WHAT IS REALLY HAPPENING BEHIND CLOSED DOORS. Production was previously expected to begin in August, but James Jordan now says the cameras won’t start rolling until “sometime in September.” More notably, it has been roughly eight months since Season 2 left Tommy Norris in a completely new position. The main cast is still expected to return and was previously reported to have secured pay raises. But it was a single comment from a Paramount+ executive about Taylor Sheridan that finally revealed where Landman really stands during this long period of silence.

The cameras still are not rolling on Landman Season 3, and the expected production start has moved later than previously reported. After eight months without a continuation…

EIGHT MONTHS AFTER THE FINALE, LANDMAN SEASON 3 STILL HASN’T STARTED FILMING — AND THE ORIGINAL PRODUCTION PLAN HAS EVEN BEEN PUSHED BACK. James Jordan revealed that production is now expected to begin “sometime in September,” rather than the previously reported August start. Meanwhile, Tommy Norris remains at one of the biggest turning points in the series after what Cami did to him. But as the delay forces fans to wait even longer, Paramount+ has just confirmed one crucial detail about Taylor Sheridan. And what Sheridan is doing right now suggests Season 3 may be preparing for an entirely different game.

THE TOUGHEST CHALLENGE COLE HAUSER FACED DURING DUTTON RANCH SEASON 1 WASN’T A FIGHT SCENE — AND IT WASN’T AN EMOTIONAL RIP WHEELER MOMENT, EITHER. Production stretched across nine months, and by the end of Episode 9, Hauser said everyone was ready to go home and get some rest. One problem even made it difficult for the actor to maintain Rip’s familiar physical appearance, while another incident became so serious that production had to shut down for four days. Still, Hauser called the season “very rewarding” and was already preparing for the year ahead. What nearly defeated Rip Wheeler in real life turned out to be an opponent no script could ever control.

COLE HAUSER HAS HAD ENOUGH OF DUTTON RANCH — WHAT HE WANTED MOST WAS TO GET OFF THE SET. Hauser said it wasn’t just him; nearly the entire cast and crew were ready to “take a breather,” go home, and get some rest. What makes that especially striking is that Season 1 had become a major success while Season 2 was already confirmed. Hauser was still deeply affected by everything he had endured while making Dutton Ranch, making his desire to step away and recover even more understandable. Only by looking at what the cast and crew endured over those grueling nine months does it become clear why Rip Wheeler needed to leave Texas as soon as the finale was finished.
