The criminal trial surrounding former Nana has taken another dramatic turn after two key witnesses connected to her injury diagnosis failed to appear in court, raising new questions ahead of the case’s final hearing.

On May 12, the Uijeongbu District Court’s Namyangju Branch held the fourth hearing for a man in his 30s, identified only as “A,” who is accused of breaking into Nana’s home in Guri, Gyeonggi Province, during an attempted robbery in November 2025. Prosecutors say the suspect allegedly threatened both Nana and her mother with a weapon after entering the residence around 6 a.m.
The hearing was expected to focus heavily on medical injury reports connected to Nana and her mother. Two individuals tied to the issuance of those reports had been scheduled to testify. However, neither appeared in court, creating unexpected complications for the prosecution.
According to reports from the hearing, the court stated it had not yet confirmed whether the witnesses were absent due to unavoidable circumstances or because they refused to testify. Although the medical documents will still remain part of the official evidence, the judge ordered an additional factual inquiry to the hospital involved in issuing the reports.

Both the prosecution and defense were instructed to submit the inquiry results within two days. The court also confirmed that witness questioning has now been rescheduled for May 19, which will simultaneously serve as the trial’s final hearing before sentencing.
The case has attracted major public attention not only because of Nana’s celebrity status, but also due to the shocking developments that followed the alleged home invasion.
Earlier in the investigation, defendant A filed a counter-complaint against Nana, accusing her of attempted murder and assault. He claimed he suffered injuries while being restrained during the confrontation inside the home.

However, police later concluded that Nana’s actions constituted legitimate self-defense and declined to forward the accusations against her for prosecution. Following that ruling, Nana’s legal team reportedly responded by filing a false accusation complaint against A, escalating tensions between both sides even further.
The ongoing legal battle has sparked heated debate online, particularly surrounding self-defense laws and the risks celebrities face regarding home invasions and stalking-related crimes. Many fans have praised Nana for protecting herself and her mother during the incident, while others have closely followed the court proceedings due to the unusual twists emerging throughout the case.
The absence of the medical witnesses is now being viewed as a potentially significant moment in the trial. Legal observers note that injury reports can play an important role in determining the severity of threats, physical confrontation, and credibility of statements made by both parties.

Despite the setback, the court appears determined to move the trial forward quickly. The judge reportedly stated that proceedings on May 19 would include the remaining witness examination and final arguments from both sides before the sentencing phase begins.
The defendant’s sentencing hearing is currently scheduled for June 4.
As the case approaches its conclusion, public attention remains intense, with many waiting to see whether the court’s final ruling will fully close one of the most talked-about celebrity criminal cases in recent months.
