Just two days after the explosive Season 1 finale of Dutton Ranch aired, actor Juan Pablo Raba sent fans into a frenzy by suggesting that one of the finale’s biggest assumptions may be completely wrong.

Speaking about the shocking death of Rob-Will, Raba revealed that viewers may have jumped to conclusions—and that the series intentionally leaves room for a very different truth to emerge in Season 2.

He emphasized that the episode never shows Joaquin firing the weapon, never includes a camera angle confirming the shot, and never provides visual proof that he is the shooter. Instead, audiences hear only the gunshot before seeing Rob-Will’s body.

That missing moment, Raba suggested, could be one of the most important creative choices in the finale.

By avoiding a direct confirmation, the writers leave the mystery unresolved and create space for a major revelation in Season 2.

Could Mariano Have Sent Someone Else?

Raba also shared a theory that has quickly gained traction among fans.

If Mariano entrusted Joaquin with killing Rob-Will, would he really risk the mission by relying solely on his son?

The actor believes that doesn’t necessarily fit Mariano’s calculating personality.

“If I were Mariano, I would definitely send someone else to make sure the job got done,” Raba explained.

If that happened, another member of Mariano’s cartel could have been waiting nearby to complete the assassination.

He admitted that when he first read the script, he also assumed Joaquin would kill Rob-Will.
