BLAKE’S LEGAL BUST: Lively Suffers Humiliating $8 Million Court Setback in Bitter War with Justin Baldoni

JUST when the explosive drama behind It Ends With Us appeared to settle down, Hollywood A-lister Blake Lively has been hit with a crushing court blow.

The Gossip Girl star demanded an eye-watering $8 million in legal fee payouts from her director and co-star Justin Baldoni following their vicious, months-long feud.

Instead, a federal judge handed her a check for just over $400,000—a brutal sum that is twenty times smaller than the multi-million dollar cash grab she originally demanded in court.

Legal experts have branded the Decision a major humiliation for the 38-year-old actress and her movie-star husband Ryan Reynolds, as the sensational court fight reaches a shocking climax.

TWENTY TIMES LESS THAN DEMANDED!

The bitter fallout began when Blake accused 42-year-old director Justin Baldoni of sexual harassment and launching a covert online “smear campaign” to destroy her public image during production of the hit drama.

Justin hit back hard with a mammoth $400 million countersuit alleging extortion and defamation, claiming Blake made up the allegations in a desperate bid to hijack creative control of the movie.

While both sides eventually struck a quiet, zero-dollar settlement on the main claims right before trial, Blake tried to twist the knife by using California anti-retaliation laws to force Justin’s studio, Wayfarer Studios, to foot her colossal legal bill.

She demanded an staggering $8 million to cover her army of high-priced attorneys.

But federal Judge Lewis J. Liman completely slashed her claim down to size in a ruling handed down in Manhattan federal court.

The judge awarded her just $363,245.40 in legal fees and $44,206.35 in costs—amounting to barely 5 percent of what she had originally demanded.

GAME-CHANGING COURT EVIDENCE

Driving this humiliating setback was a game-changing piece of legal evidence newly exposed in court filings.

Judge Liman exposed the fact that Blake’s legal team tried to bill Justin’s camp for huge sums spent on PR and media strategists rather than actual courtroom defense.

In his damning written decision, the judge firmly rejected Blake’s attempt to claim money for managing public relations.

Judge Liman wrote bluntly:

“Media relations were not integral to defending the defamation claim brought against Lively.”

The judge ruled that California’s law was designed exclusively to cover genuine court costs for defending retaliatory defamation—NOT to subsidize an actor’s Hollywood media spin and public relations machine.

Furthermore, the court made it clear that Blake was not entitled to triple damages or punitive compensation because her broader claims fell far outside federal procedural rules.

“YOU CAN’T USE THE COURT FOR PERSONAL GAIN”

The ruling triggered immediate celebrations from Justin’s legal defense team, who declared victory after months of Hollywood mudslinging.

Justin’s fiery attorney, Bryan Freedman, ripped into the actress following the judge’s decision, calling it a total defeat for her team.

“The ruling is a significant victory for my clients and sends a clear message that, no matter how powerful you may be, the courtroom is not a place to take advantage of the law for your own personal gain.”

Freedman added that innocent people had their reputations unfairly tarnished throughout the toxic feud.

“There was no sexual harassment. There was no retaliation. There was no smear campaign. The court recognized it, the record reflects it, and we have maintained it from the very beginning.”

Meanwhile, Blake’s legal representatives tried to put a brave face on the embarrassing fee slash, calling any fee payout under the California law “historic” and insisting the case was never about money.

However, Hollywood insiders say the meager $400,000 award leaves Blake and her team licking their wounds after spending tens of millions in legal fees throughout the toxic war.

What started as a blockbuster romance on screen has officially ended as one of the most expensive and embarrassing legal flops in modern Hollywood history!
