Former ENHYPEN member Heeseung, who is now promoting as solo artist EVAN, has finally addressed one of the biggest questions surrounding his decision to leave the group and begin a new chapter as an individual musician. Since announcing his transition into a solo career, many fans have wondered why he could not continue his activities as a member of ENHYPEN while also releasing solo music, especially considering that many artists in the industry have successfully balanced group promotions with individual projects.

The question was brought up directly during EVAN’s debut mini-album showcase for 𝔻𝔼𝔸𝕋ℍ 𝕆𝔽 𝕄𝔼, which was held on September 7 at Kyung Hee University’s Grand Peace Palace in Seoul. During the event, a reporter asked EVAN why he was unable to remain part of ENHYPEN while pursuing his own solo releases. The reporter also questioned whether he felt nervous, uncertain, or regretful about leaving the group, especially as ENHYPEN continued achieving major career milestones after his departure.

EVAN responded carefully when addressing the reason behind the decision, explaining that the process of transitioning into a solo career involves many different factors and many people working together behind the scenes. Because of that complexity, he expressed that it was difficult for him to provide a detailed explanation.

“The process of going solo involves so many people, so I ask for your understanding that it’s difficult for me to answer that part,” EVAN said.

Although he did not reveal specific details about the circumstances surrounding his departure, his response showed that the decision was not something simple or easily explained. Instead, he acknowledged that becoming a solo artist is a major process involving multiple individuals and considerations.

The conversation also touched on ENHYPEN’s recent achievements. After EVAN’s departure, ENHYPEN reached an important milestone by earning their first-ever No. 1 position on the Billboard 200 chart. “I’m proud of them. Reaching No. 1 on the Billboard 200 isn’t an easy goal to achieve,” he shared.

“I think the best thing is for me to continue working hard as well and for all of us to show our best in our respective positions,” he explained.

“Thankfully, I was able to successfully complete promotions for my debut single, and I feel the amount of love I received was more than I deserved,” EVAN said.

“It feels especially meaningful that I’ve now been able to release my first mini album as well. I want to repay all the love I’ve received through a variety of music,” he added.

Released on September 7, EVAN’s first mini-album 𝔻𝔼𝔸𝕋ℍ 𝕆𝔽 𝕄𝔼 includes eight tracks, including the title song of the same name. For this project, EVAN took a more active role in the production process, allowing him to have greater involvement in shaping the overall direction and identity of the album.
