The new series was previously known as NOLA King, but it has since shifted gears and become a North Texas production under the new title Frisco King. Filming began in Fort Worth in late March, and the show is expected to continue shooting across Fort Worth, Plano, Dallas, Frisco, Keller, Denton, and Southlake through July. That’s a pretty major footprint, and it’s another sign of just how much Sheridan’s TV empire has planted itself in Texas.

Jackson stars as Russell Lee Washington Jr., a hitman who previously crossed paths with Stallone’s Dwight on Tulsa King. The character appeared in the final two episodes of the show’s third season, setting the stage for this expansion. Sheridan is writing every episode of the eight-episode series himself, which should tell fans exactly how seriously Paramount+ is taking this one.

There’s also a growing cast around Jackson. In addition to Stallone’s involvement behind the scenes, Frisco King will star Kai Caster, Asa Germann, Lilah Pate, and Savanna Gann. Showrunner Jay Bienstock is executive producing alongside Sheridan’s wider team, and the production has also recently made a stop in Atlanta, likely to line up with Stallone while Tulsa King Season 4 continues filming there.
