HARRIS FAULKNER IS TAKING A BREAK FROM FOX NEWS — BUT HER NEW VIDEO HAS PEOPLE FOCUSING ON SOMETHING ENTIRELY DIFFERENT. Faulkner says there are family problems that even dads who always know how to “fix everything” simply can’t solve on their own. She then pulls out what she calls her “life toolkit,” highlighting three things she believes parents will need when life begins to change. The message may sound lighthearted, but the timing of the video is far from random. And what is happening within Faulkner’s own family is what makes this message far more personal than it first appears.

Harris Faulkner’s temporary absence from Fox News initially created room for speculation, but the anchor’s own explanation suggests something far less dramatic and much more personal.

A woman in a "VINEYARD" sweater stands in front of garage shelves.

Rather than signaling a professional crisis, her break appears to be centered on family, a daughter’s return to college, and the kind of emotional transition that can make even experienced parents feel unprepared.

According to The U.S. Sun, Faulkner recently shared a lighthearted video while taking time away from her daytime programs, using the moment to offer advice to fathers facing family changes.

Her message was framed around what she called a “life toolkit.”

“Hey dad, you may have tools for everything you need to repair, but what happens when something comes up for your family, you don’t know you have the right tool for?” Faulkner says in the clip.

She then holds up three pieces of paper and names the things she believes parents need most.

“You gonna need faith, you gonna need scripture and you definitely gonna need prayer.”

She ends with a simple encouragement: “Go dads.”

On the surface, it is a playful social-media message. But the timing gives it more weight.

Faulkner, 60, has explained that she is stepping away from Fox News for family commitments and to help with a college move. She wrote that she was taking a break for “family and fun” and for “a college move back into the dorms,” while sharing summer moments meant to bring “smiles and love” to followers’ feeds.

That clarification matters because Faulkner is normally a highly visible presence on Fox’s daytime schedule. She regularly anchors The Faulkner Focus at 11 a.m. ET before appearing as a co-host on Outnumbered at noon. She has been with Fox News since 2005 and has become one of the network’s most recognizable daytime personalities.

Her temporary disappearance therefore naturally attracted attention.

But the new update appears to make clear that her absence is tied to family rather than an unexplained network shake-up.

The college transition is especially meaningful because Faulkner has spoken before about the emotions surrounding her eldest daughter’s move into higher education.

Faulkner and her husband, media consultant Tony Berlin, have two daughters, Bella and Danika. Their eldest began college in the fall of 2025.

Months before that milestone, Faulkner openly discussed her fears about what her daughter might encounter on campus.

In a 2025 interview, she said that as a person of color and someone who speaks openly about faith, she worries about the ways people can be judged because of belief, social position, appearance, hair texture or skin color.

“I’m worried about all of it. And not just for my kids,” she said.

She also expressed concern for Jewish students on college campuses, saying she wanted them to know they had allies and that the hatred seen in some campus environments was only a “microcosm” compared with the love that exists elsewhere.

That concern is closely connected to the way Faulkner and Berlin have described raising their daughters.

Faulkner is a Baptist Christian, while Berlin is Jewish. Their family has embraced both racial and religious diversity, and Faulkner has spoken about trying to expose her children to both traditions.

In a 2020 interview, she said, “I’m teaching my girls that you’ve got to come into the center of the room if you want to find peace.”

She also explained that the girls were being raised predominantly Christian but were exposed to Jewish traditions as well, including Passover and the reading of the Haggadah.

For Faulkner, that approach appears to be about more than religious education. It reflects a broader philosophy about teaching children how to exist confidently in complicated environments without losing their sense of identity.

She has also said that she does not try to shield her daughters completely from difficult events in the United States.

When they were younger, she spoke about discussing national problems with them even when those conversations were uncomfortable. She recalled one daughter asking, “When is this going to end?”

Faulkner said she answered that it would end when people decided that resilience and surviving the moment mattered more than simply being right.

That idea of resilience now fits naturally with the tone of her latest video.

Faith. Scripture. Prayer.

Those are not presented as abstract beliefs. In Faulkner’s “life toolkit,” they are practical tools for parents dealing with moments they cannot fix with ordinary solutions.

And helping a child return to college may be exactly that kind of moment.

Parents can move boxes, organize dorm rooms and handle logistics, but they cannot control every challenge their children will face once they leave home. Faulkner’s message seems to acknowledge that limit in a personal, almost understated way.

Her temporary break also comes during another period of change at Fox News. Fellow network star Maria Bartiromo recently left the company after more than 12 years. Fox News Media confirmed her departure but did not provide a reason.

That timing could easily make Faulkner’s own absence look more significant than it is.

But based on Faulkner’s explanation, her situation appears very different.

She is not presenting herself as someone walking away from Fox. Instead, she is presenting herself as a mother taking time to focus on a family transition, while sharing the same values she has discussed publicly for years.

That may be the most revealing part of the update.

For viewers who know Faulkner primarily as a television anchor, the break offers a reminder that her public identity is also closely tied to her roles as a mother, wife and person of faith.

And in this case, the three words she chose — faith, scripture and prayer — may say more about why she is taking this time away than any formal network statement could.
