Rain recently addressed growing online criticism suggesting his wife, Kim Tae Hee, handles parenting responsibilities alone.
The topic came up in a preview for tvN’s variety program You Quiz on the Block released on May 20, where Rain appeared as a guest and spoke candidly with Yoo Jae Seok.

Rain joked nervously about reuniting with Yoo Jae Seok following their work together in SSAK3, saying he felt like he was “walking into a movie scene” whenever he met the veteran host. He humorously added that Yoo Jae Seok would either “praise him or roast him,” making him both excited and nervous.
The conversation then shifted toward Kim Tae Hee’s previous appearance on the show. Yoo Jae Seok asked whether Rain had watched the episode, and Rain revealed that he had watched it together with his wife while lying in bed.

Rain explained that while he felt proud of Kim Tae Hee’s appearance, the emotional ending of the episode unexpectedly created misunderstandings online. During her interview, Kim Tae Hee spoke honestly about the stress of parenting and became emotional, covering her mouth as tears formed in her eyes before the scene ended.
According to Rain, that brief emotional clip quickly spread online and led many viewers to assume Kim Tae Hee was carrying the burden of childcare entirely by herself.
“I received so many calls,” Rain said. “People kept asking, ‘Do you not help with childcare at home?’ But that’s not true.”

The singer clarified that he actively participates in raising their children and personally handles school drop-offs and pick-ups. He admitted, however, that their children tend to call for their mother more often than him, leading to another round of teasing from Yoo Jae Seok.
Yoo jokingly pointed out that some children call for their fathers too, leaving Rain flustered as he laughed that he somehow ends up being “roasted” every time he appears on the show.

Fans praised the couple’s honest discussion about parenting struggles, especially because celebrity families in Korea rarely speak openly about the emotional pressure of raising children.
