With BLACKPINK’s 10th debut anniversary approaching, frustration among fans has reached a boiling point as many question the group’s lack of anniversary activities and promotions.

A viral post on X (formerly Twitter), which has amassed millions of views, criticized both the group and its management, arguing that a 10-year milestone deserves far more than what fans have received so far.

The fan wrote that while they understand each member has built a successful solo career, BLACKPINK’s 10th anniversary is a once-in-a-decade milestone that should be treated differently. The post pointed out that many other K-pop groups celebrate their 10th anniversaries with special albums, concerts, fan meetings, documentaries, or commemorative events.

According to the post, fans are not even demanding a full comeback or world tour, but believe that releasing only a single song and music video—with no music show promotions, no performance outfits, and little group content—does not feel like a proper celebration of such an important occasion.

The criticism quickly spread beyond Korean fans, with many international BLINKs echoing similar disappointment. Some even questioned whether Korean fans would organize protest trucks, a tactic often used by K-pop fandoms to express dissatisfaction with entertainment companies.

Adding fuel to the controversy, fans said they became even more frustrated after receiving notifications encouraging them to renew their Weverse membership as part of the anniversary period.

Many questioned why fans were being asked to continue paying for membership benefits when, according to their complaints, the members themselves have rarely been active on the platform over the past year.

The backlash has largely been directed at YG Entertainment’s planning rather than at the members personally. Many supporters argue that a 10th anniversary should include meaningful content celebrating BLACKPINK’s journey with fans, rather than relying on old photos or minimal social media updates.

At the same time, neither BLACKPINK nor YG Entertainment has announced that no anniversary content will be released. As of now, fans’ criticism reflects disappointment over the activities revealed so far, while many continue hoping that additional projects or celebrations could still be announced before the anniversary officially arrives.

For now, one thing is clear: expectations for BLACKPINK’s 10-year milestone are exceptionally high, and many BLINKs believe the occasion deserves far more than what has been unveiled to date.
