A single tap on Instagram was all it took for G-Dragon to dominate online discussions once again. The BIGBANG leader recently “liked” a post featuring Japanese model and actress Mizuhara Kiko—his longtime rumored girlfriend from more than a decade ago—immediately reigniting speculation about their past relationship. While some fans believe the interaction hints at lingering memories, others insist it’s simply another example of G-Dragon’s well-known habit of liking countless posts without attaching any deeper meaning. Even so, the timing has once again thrust one of K-pop’s most talked-about rumored romances back into the spotlight.
The controversy began after an Instagram post titled “Mizuhara Kiko – the one we all loved back then” circulated online, featuring a collection of photos of the Japanese model and actress.

What caught fans’ attention wasn’t the post itself—it was the fact that G-Dragon’s verified Instagram account had liked it.
Within hours, screenshots spread across social media, with many netizens revisiting the pair’s history.
G-Dragon and Mizuhara Kiko have been linked by dating rumors since 2010, although neither of them has ever publicly confirmed a romantic relationship.
The speculation intensified in 2014, when photos surfaced showing the two spending time together in Seoul’s Itaewon district.
At the time, YG Entertainment only responded by saying they were “checking with the artist” before never providing any further clarification, leaving the rumors unresolved.

Because of that history, many internet users immediately interpreted G-Dragon’s latest Instagram interaction as something meaningful.
Some suggested that he might simply be reminiscing about old memories, while others argued that the “like” carried a hidden message.
However, a large portion of fans quickly pushed back against those theories.
Supporters pointed out that G-Dragon has long been known for randomly liking posts on Instagram, often without any deeper intention.
They reminded people that he had already explained this habit during an appearance on the entertainment program Zip Daesung.
In the interview, G-Dragon revealed that he frequently likes posts simply because he appreciates the fans and creators who continue supporting him.
He joked that seeing fans become happy after receiving a like motivates him to continue doing it.
“I don’t really have any special standards,” he explained. “Whenever I have free time, I just keep tapping the like button so quickly that my fingerprints might wear off.”
When actor Lee Soo Hyuk teased him about accidentally liking too many posts, G-Dragon laughed and admitted it happens often because “my hands are too big.”
Despite those explanations, the latest incident continues drawing attention because of who the post was about.

This also isn’t the first time G-Dragon has unintentionally reignited old dating rumors through social media activity.
Back in May, he also liked one of Mizuhara Kiko’s own Instagram photo posts, prompting another round of speculation.
Earlier this year, he briefly liked a performance video posted by BLACKPINK’s Jennie—another celebrity previously linked to him through dating rumors in 2021—before quickly removing the like.
Now, with BIGBANG preparing for its highly anticipated 20th anniversary comeback, fans are paying even closer attention to every move G-Dragon makes online.
The group is scheduled to hold a special fan event at Yeouido Hangang Park on August 19, celebrating the anniversary of BIGBANG’s debut, before officially launching their world tour on August 21 with the opening concert at Goyang Stadium.
Whether the latest Instagram “like” was a nostalgic gesture or simply another accidental tap remains unknown—but once again, a single click from G-Dragon has proven enough to send the entire K-pop community into debate.
