She describes him as one of Russia’s most dangerous figures, calling him “Putin’s hammer.” According to her, eliminating him would trigger a major response from Russia, but capturing him would completely change the balance of power.
She explains that taking Yurimov off the board would be like removing a key piece from a chess game. Joe does not immediately agree to take part in the mission, but she leaves the meeting with valuable information, including a flash drive and a way to contact the Ukrainian operative if needed.
Eventually, Kaitlyn Meade decides that the operation is too important to ignore and sends Joe and the Lioness team to Ukraine. Their objective is not to kill Yurimov, but to capture him.
