I rewatched the entire first season of Dutton Ranch from the beginning last night, and I’ll be honest — it hit me harder than I expected.

I really dislike Oreana now.

She’s the one who got Carter all twisted and his head completely messed up. From the moment she appeared, that kid was never the same. The innocent, loyal Carter we met early in Season 1 was gone the second she walked into his life. She turned him into someone paranoid, confused, and completely unhinged. And the worst part? She still acts like she didn’t cause half of it.

Early on, Carter was just a sweet, wide-eyed kid trying to find his place in this broken world. Beth and Rip took him in after his parents died, and for a while, he felt safe. He was loyal, respectful, and still carried that childlike hope that things could get better.

Then Oreana happened.

One day she was just another new face on the ranch. The next, Carter was following her around like a lost puppy. He started lying, sneaking around, getting into fights, and pulling away from the people who actually cared about him. The kidnapping by the cartel? Oreana’s influence is all over that mess. Without her messing with his head, Carter might have stayed strong. Instead, she turned him into someone who didn’t know who to trust anymore.

The Girl Who Made Him Unstable

Oreana didn’t just flirt with him. She twisted his brain. She made him question everything — his family, his friends, even the ranch itself. She was the one who made him believe the world was out to get him when he was still just a kid trying to find his place.

And the worst part? She’s still acting like she didn’t break him.

The way she talks now, the way she looks at him, the way she still tries to pull him back in… it’s infuriating. She doesn’t seem to have any guilt about what she did. She just keeps acting like she’s the victim while Carter is the one who’s completely lost.

My Honest Hope

I hope Oreana gets better — or gets gone.

Carter is already carrying way too much. He’s been through hell and back, and she’s the one who made it worse. If she’s not going to fix herself, then maybe the ranch would be better off without her messing with his head any longer.

He doesn’t need someone who’ll twist him up again. He needs people who actually help him become the strong young Dutton he’s meant to be.

Do You Feel the Same Way?

I know a lot of you are probably Team Oreana right now because of how “mysterious” and “complicated” she is. But after rewatching everything, I can’t shake the feeling that she did real damage to Carter.

She took a good kid and broke him. And I hope the second season finally gives us some answers — whether that’s her getting better or her finally being removed from his life.

Carter deserves to heal. He deserves to be the strong, loyal young man the Dutton family needs.

He doesn’t need someone who makes him twisted.
